Chicago – The property assessment and appeal seminar conducted by Cook County Assessor Joseph Berrios drew a near-record crowd to the Cicero Community Center on April 17, 2017. More than 700 appeal forms were submitted from this community outreach; the previous high was around 800.
Staff members from the Cook County Assessor’s Office (CCAO) accompanied Assessor Berrios, who was joined by Cicero Town President Larry Dominick and Township Assessor Emilio Cundari. Homeowners were given information about the appeal and exemption processes as Assessor Berrios and his staff helped taxpayers file appeals.
"I thank Cicero Township Assessor Emilio Cundari for working with us. We informed many hundreds of homeowners and helped them file assessment appeals,” Assessor Berrios said. “My primary goal continues to be fair and equitable assessment of properties in not only Cicero Township, but throughout Cook County. We welcome appeals as part of the process of reaching the fairest assessment figure.”
Each year, CCAO reassesses one-third of the nearly 1.8 million parcels of property located in Cook County. This year, CCAO is reassessing properties located in South Suburban Cook County. The deadline to file appeals in Cicero Township is April 21, 2017.
